Stevens 44 in 357 mag

I picked up a Stevens 44 in 25-20 SS but someone ran a 25-20 WCF reamer in and buggered up the chamber. I decided to reline it to 357 so I can shoot 357 and 38 Special in it. I purchased a 357 Chaszel liner from Nine35.ca and installed it. I also casehardended the action and blued the barrel. It is a fun shooting little rifle now. My gun safes are getting a bit full so I may sell this and others to make room for new projects.

I am a hobby gunsmith by night and teach at a University by day. I love taking old basket case but classic rifles and breathing new life into them. I do have a Ph.D. but it is in feed processing and nutrition and nothing to do with classic rifles but some of my friends call me the gun doctor for bringing these pieces back to life. I especially enjoy some of the old school methods like bone charcoal color casehardening.
