My favourite gopher gun is a small frame Martini that I put a 17 HM2 barrel from a TC Contender carbine. The wood was walnut from Windsor plywood. This little rifle is a laser. I case hardened the action and the scope rings. The 17 hm2 is an under appreciated cartridge, I have both 17 hmr and this rifle and this one, for small game like gophers I think the 17 mach 2 is best. It is quite, flat shooting and less costly to shoot.
