Sharps

1874 Sharps are classics.

This sharps is a c-sharps action, Ron Smith gain twist barrel in 45-70, and Treebone wood. I made the barrel as heavy as possible with Ron’s blank resulting in a 16 lb rifle.

1874 Shiloh Sharps (Moose Sharps!)

This Shiloh sharps came to me as a box of broken parts. Apparently the previous owner had it strapped to a Quad moose hunting and it clipped a tree destroying the gun. Thankfully Sharps actions are very well built and the key pieces were still fine. I had to bent the tang back and weld it back on, the stock was missing a bunch of wood but I did my best to glue pieces back in. The wood had some very nice figure so it was worth repairing. I had to put a new barrel on it (Green Mountain 3.5 weight BPCR barrel). It is a very nice shooting rifle now and has unique history so I like it. I usually shoot my Ballard 38-55 for BPCR so I usually lend this one to my friends who want to try BPCR Silhouette.
