Yesterday I got inspired to reline some barrels. The main barrel is a Stevens Favorite barrel that I plan using to build a ladies rifle. The first task was to extend the octagon by 2 inches. I cut the barrel 2” ahead of the octagon, cut the 2” round section down to 5/8” dia. I took a piece of steal bar and drilled it to 5/8” and epoxied this on to the barrel. I cut the new section to octagon. I also did a bit of welding to fill marks in the barrel. I drilled the barrel out to 7/16”. Then I took a Cooey model 75 barrel with a really nice bore and cut it off at 26” long, turned down the barrel to 7/16” dia for the length of the stub I made and then glued the octagon stub on the barrel. Next up is to trim the barrel, chamber it and cut it for the extractor. I also drilled and lined a Marlin 1889 barrel and epoxied in a 25-20 Redman liner.

Nicely done!!
The finished product will be worth the effort.
